Coaching Conversations

In this six-hour session, participants will engage in coaching conversations where techniques for effective listening and for asking effective questions will intentionally transform how we relate to each other every day in our most significant and meaningful work. This highly interactive workshop will propel you forward with achieving your goals and objectives by aligning the outcomes you desire with your greatest natural talents and strengths. Discover what the organization called Gallup has done with decades of research and critical thinking to support us in learning to tap into who we already are to maximize our productivity! Be willing to practice some basic coaching skills with colleagues in this session, and if you are experiencing a transition in your life (professionally or personally), leave this session inspired to take your next steps–moving into action toward making that significant difference you desire to make in the lives of people we serve!”

Young Investigators: Introduction to the Project Approach

Why do projects and investigations in the early years? How do you identify young children’s interest in a real-world topic? How do you help children formulate questions for investigation? How do you support children’s representations? The Young Investigators workshop focuses on facilitation of the Project Approach (as defined by Katz, Chard and Helm) with young children. Join us for this full-day, deep dive in to the Project Approach.

Outcomes:

  • Participants will learn the structure of the Project Approach along with strategies for facilitating children’s investigations of real-world topics.
  • Participants will recognize how STEM experiences fit naturally into project work.

Presented by Carol Bolz, MA – Young Investigators

Carol has also coordinated research on the Project Approach and presented on the topic at national conferences.
