Engaging Young Children in STEAM and MakerEd Explorations at Home

In this webinar Diana Wehrell-Grabowski, Ph.D. will introduce participants to the principles and practices of STEAM and MakerEd, and how parents and caregivers can engage young children in meaningful and age-appropriate STEAM and MakerEd explorations at home using readily and affordable materials.

Diana Wehrell-Grabowski, Ph.D. has been involved in academia for over 35 years as a science teacher, Adjunct Professor, and owner of a science education consulting company, Mobile Science Education Consulting Company.  Diana conducts STEM, Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), MakerEd professional staff development, and Family STEM workshops for educational institutions, and organizations throughout the world. She is passionate about hands-on-minds-on inquiry-based teaching and learning, STEM, and transforming teaching and learning for 21st-century learners.

Over the past 25 years, Diana has conducted hundreds of teacher training workshops, institutes, conference presentations, and keynotes throughout the world, reaching thousands of educators. Diana strives to assure that each individual who attends her sessions will leave inspired, enlightened,  empowered, and transformed.

Some personal facts about Diana are that she grew up in Southeast Asia, she lives in Cocoa Beach, Florida with her husband Mark and their two Chickens Biscuit and Gravy. They have two grown children who are business owners in Guam and Australia. Diana enjoys spending time outdoors surfing, hiking, bicycling and exploring nature up close.
