Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Region 9 Head Star Association (R9HSA)?
First, we are an independent, not-for-profit membership organization. We are not the Region 9 Office of Head Start, nor are we a local program. Second, we believe in the essential mission of our local member program in the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii and the Pacific Region and Nevada. Our goal is to collaborate with the state associations, national associations and others who work with urgency and passion to serve vulnerable children and families.
How is R9HSA funded?
Our operating funds are generated by membership dues, net income from training events, donations to our general fund and sponsorships.
How do I become a member of R9HSA?
Membership is open to agencies and organizations providing services funded by a Head Start grant. Agencies may be grantees, delegates, partners, or service delivery contractors. Individual membership flows from your association with the agency.
