Why 

In collaboration with DE&C Consulting, Filling Every Slot with Urgency and Compassion is a two-week, four-part webinar series rooted in the belief that successful enrollment goes beyond meeting goals—it is about building trust, fairness, and meaningful connections with families from the very start. Dr. Desiree Del-Zio and Dr. Andre Walker will highlight the critical role of enrollment as the gateway to long-term family engagement, partnership, and success. With a focus on family retention and male engagement, participants will explore strategies to foster relationships, overcome barriers, and create welcoming, supportive environments for a variety of family structures. By accelerating the enrollment impact, this series empowers educators to cultivate a culture of inclusion and well-being, setting the stage for impactful, lasting engagement throughout the Head Start journey.

What  

This two-week, four-part series takes a deep dive into how enrollment serves as the foundation for long-term family engagement and success. Throughout this series, participants will:

  • Examine the Role of Trust & Fairness in Enrollment
  • Address Barriers to Male Engagement
  • Navigate Family Reunification & Trauma-Informed
  • Support Create Welcoming, Supportive Spaces for Families in Crisis

Who:  

This series will target – Head Start Staff responsible for eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance (ERSEA) tasks and local agencies as well as family advocates who support family engagement.
