Why

Head Start serves over half a million families, providing essential services to both children and their caregivers. Behind every child’s success in Head Start is an adult — a teacher, coach, administrator, or dedicated support staff — whose commitment makes that success possible.

We believe in uplifting the individuals who make Head Start thrive. This scholarship exists to honor your work and help you pursue the education that move your dreams forward.

What

Each year, HSW allocates scholarship funds based on donations and available resources. To be eligible, applicants must meet both of the following criteria:

  • Be a full-time employee or a current member of a Parent Policy Council or Committee at a Head Start or Early Head Start program that holds an active HSW membership
  • Be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education, pursuing a post-secondary degree

Funds awarded will be sent directly to the recipient’s school and may be used for tuition, fees, books, or educational materials.

The Scholarship & Awards Committee evaluates all eligible applications based on demonstrated need and commitment to educational goals.
Award amounts vary by state of residence.
