This session will explore the value of focusing on language development as key to literacy development, strong partnerships with families, and preparation for kindergarten with preLAS. PreLAS is a research-based assessment tool for young learners, including dual language learners, in Head Start Programs. Specific examples of both the assessment process and how the data from the assessment can be used will be provided.
