Scholarships and Awards

pattern pattern

Head Start touches the lives of more than 130,000 children and families in the four western states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and the Pacific Region. Serving those children are more than 30,000 adults in a variety of roles. Each adult is essential to ensuring the child and families success.

R9HSA believes in elevating the work of the staff in our local programs and supporting you to achieve your dreams.

Each Year, Region 9 Head Start Association reviews the available resources donated to our organization and establishes criteria for eligibility to apply for available funds. For 2024 the following criteria will determine if an applicant may apply.

  • Full time employee OR Member of Parent Policy Council/Committee at HS or EHS who are current Region 9 Head Start Association Members
  • Enrolled in accredited institution of higher education pursuing a post-secondary degree

Funds won will be directed to your school for use on tuition, fees, books, and materials. The Scholarship and awards committee will review each qualified applicant to determine need and commitment to the applicant’s educational goals.  Grant levels are differentiated by state the winner resides in.

Learn more by watching a short info-session here.
