Yes, we are open to either full-time or part-time employees. We only ask that applicants are enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education pursuing a post-secondary degree

Yes, this year we are focused on supporting staff who are pushing or close to finish their degree. It might be an AA or BA/BS degree — that does not matter. It might also be a graduate degree — MA/MS or Ed.D/PhD.

If the agency is a member, you receive the benefits of membership.  This includes those who work for a Family Child Care Home that is a contractor to a R9HSA member; the benefits of membership apply to you. If you are not sure if your agency is a member, contact Lindsay Knox at lknox@region9hsa.org

Yes, as long as you attend a 2-year or 4-year, accredited institution. It does not matter if it is a traditional, in-person, online, or hybrid program, with some online and some in-person coursework.  You will be asked to submit your most recent transcripts.

Submit the following with your application:

  • Unofficial transcripts
  • One letter of recommendation from a supervisor
  • One letter of recommendation from a professor

The transcripts should be from the current semester  — Winter 2023 or Spring 2024. Transcripts are used to verify that you are taking 12 or more units and/or the type of institution you are attending. Transcripts do not need to be official or sealed.

Yes, we do not have limits on the number of times you may apply and win. You may apply again whether you won last year or did not win.

No, to apply you must be planning on attending school during Fall 2024.

The scholarship funds are deposited directly with the institution you are enrolled with. Most colleges and universities have personnel who can assist you in securing the information you will need to apply the funds to your school account.

2024 dates will be announced soon.

  • Cannot be applied to past-due fees
  • If not claimed, it is returned to R9HSA, not paid to student directly.
  • Contact the campus financial aid office for campus specifics.
