COVID-19

We are closely monitoring the situation related to COVID – 19.  We are actively checking information shared with us by the following sources:

  • Center for Disease Control
  • Office of Head Start
  • State Departments of Health
  • World Health Organization
  • And event and meeting industry organizations

We will continue to educate ourselves on appropriate responses as the facts and authorities update their recommendations.

We thank you for your flexibility.

Below are some great resources for you, your staff, and families to help you navigate these hectic times, so please take a moment to go through and take advantage of them.

COMMUNICATIONS: Share Your Story

In these times it is essential for you to share your story in many directions – with your staff, parents, partners and the local media. We have created two tools for you to use in this effort.

The first is a simple MEDIA ADVISORY. Just a couple tips – The form should be sent to the education, lifestyle, feature, government reporter(s) of local newspapers and to the assignment editor of the local radio and/or TV stations. Print and electronic media also have news/tip submission portals on their websites, so these can be searched for and used. It’s best to paste the information into the web portal and not use an attached pdf or Word doc. Please share with the R9HSA any resulting coverage so that we may share it with others tracking the impact of Head Start. Click here to download the MEDIA ADVISORY.

In addition, the flow of information may be a challenge to staff and parents. As we move from this phase to the next, all of us are restless and ready for a change.  Here is another tool that we have drafted to support the understanding of information sources.
