Call for Presenters

Accepting proposals through November 21

Head Start West invites you to submit a proposal to present at our virtual Early Childhood STEM Institute, taking place March 24–26, 2026.

The Institute offers Head Start educators an engaging, hands-on opportunity to explore science principles in ways that can be applied directly in their classrooms. We believe that encouraging children to explore, ask why, and seek answers builds a foundation not only for future academic success but also for a lifelong love of learning.

This year’s Institute highlights real-world applications of STEM in early childhood education, showing how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics can inspire innovative teaching, strengthen leadership, and improve outcomes for children and families. Our goal is to provide educators with practical strategies and interactive experiences that make STEM learning meaningful, relevant, and developmentally appropriate.

This year we are seeking workshops that showcase:

  • Quality Teacher Child Interactions
  • Approaches to Learning: Curiosity and Initiative
  • Strategies to advance brain development
  • Environments that promote STEM learning
  • Technology Impact
  • Families and STEM
  • STEM Leadership & Administration

For our Early Childhood STEM Institute, we are offering a variety of session formats to support deep learning and meaningful connections among attendees. Presenters may submit proposals for Part A, Part B:

  • 45-minute Education Sessions
  • 2-hour Education Sessions (March 25, 2026)
  • 1-hour Education Sessions, pre-recorded
