Why

We are excited to present a new professional development event, Conferencia de Head Start en Español. Our theme this year will be – Heart, Culture and Connections. We are committed to providing high-quality professional development experiences. This is our first training event tailored to the unique needs of our Head Start / Early Head Start community in which Spanish is the primary language of both adults and children.

The emotional foundation for school readiness begins with the heart. From trust to cooperation, children and adults are motivated when their learning environments are enriching experiences with responsive and responsive support components.

Research reminds us that professional development is multidimensional. It is content that arises from shared values and allows for both formal and informal experiences. Using technology platforms and promoting learning and participation in Spanish will create unique experiences to address staff knowledge and cultural frameworks.

At HSW we recognize unique connection diversity offerings. It is our responsibility to go beyond a limited offer of Spanish courses as usual. From our keynote addresses to our networking sessions, from providers to volunteers, our promise is to elevate high-quality professional development in Spanish.
