For over 25 years, Early Head Start has served to elevate the hopes of families, provide foundational knowledge, and partner with them in critical times. Region 9 Head Start community gathers annually to challenge, enable, and celebrate the work of our community. From downtown Phoenix to the Pacific Islands, from homeless shelters and correctional facilities to early education centers, living rooms, and community spaces, and from staff who have master’s and doctoral degrees to those working part-time as caregivers – we encompass the Early Head Start community.
Our theme this year is Resilient Together, Responsive Together, Rebuilding Together.
Our theme this is a celebration of achievements and look forward to new opportunities to sever our communities. We have been dedicated to being resilient individuals, responsive to our communities and focused on rebuilding a new normal together. We will prioritize sessions that elevate the lessons learned over the past two years as well as strategies that are most effective as Educators – Home Based, Center Based, and Family Child Care settings.
The content this year is both rich and balanced. We have selected four content tracks: Wellness, Teaching and Learning, Environments and Leadership. We will host keynotes and educational sessions targeting Center Based, Family Child Care, and Home Visiting.
For our First 1,000 Days! Conference, we will be offering three unique formats to support deep leaning and connections among attendees:
We are also excited to offer back our exhibitors and sponsors will have space for table displays networking time and opportunities to connect with your resource providers.
In addition, this year we will be celebrating our 2022 Scholarship Winners on August 2, 2022, at 5:00 PM PST. This will be a fun opportunity to acknowledge your peers as they advance in higher education.
Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, New York, New York is both family friendly and pet friendly. From pools and entertainment to the Big Apple Coaster and Arcade, lots of fun for all!

I have been to management workshops, not leadership training. This has totally changed my perspective and encouraged me to propel forward in developing my skills.
I am honored and humbled to be a recipient of the Region 9 Head Start Association’s Legacy Scholarship. The scholarship helped me get one step closer to achieving my goal of becoming a Head Start Director.
I took part in The disproportionate impact of COVID 19, and how to provide “real” support for black/brown children and families and I just want to say this was an amazing webinar. I hope we can look forward to further conversation on this topic.
Thank you so much for making events like this! I really enjoyed and learned so much teaching strategies to implement STEM in the classroom.
The HR Network was an excellent opportunity to network and learn the best practices from other HR professionals within Head Start programs. You will be amazed by the level of talent and experience of the participants.
The Summer Camp training was powerful and inspiring! Each presenter was very engaging, it’s hard to even pick a favorite session!
The Leadership Challenge training was very relevant to my work as a Head Start leader! Great facilitation; stayed with the program yet allowed time for individual and small group reflections.
