Why

Helping young children understand their feelings and learn to calm down is one of the most important things we do as educators. This training will give you simple, effective strategies to support emotional development and reduce challenging behaviors, tools you can start using right away

What

This session introduces recommended strategies to help children develop self-regulation skills. We begin by fostering emotional literacy, using visuals and prompts to help children express and label their feelings through games, songs, and stories. We then introduce the Tucker Turtle Technique, a visual tool designed to help children control their emotions and problem-solve using effective, age-appropriate strategies.

In this hands-on, interactive session, you’ll:

  • Learn fun ways to teach children about feelings using visuals, songs, games, and stories
  • Explore the Tucker Turtle Technique, a step-by-step way to help children calm down and solve problems
  • Practice using the materials from the Emotional Literacy & Tucker Turtle Kit to bring these strategies into your daily routine
