Since it’s inception, Head Start has been in the forefront of equipping families to fight their personal war on poverty and empowering staff to overcome insurmountable odds. Over the last two years leaders have carried the indescribable burden of operating a service organization through an international crisis. A burden that many can’t adequately describe yet all understand.
At the same time – leaders are the curators of vision, strategy, morale, and momentum. If we are to flourish as an essential component of American society, without hesitation, a focus on leadership is critical. This retreat intends to provide a space for directors and their leadership teams to come together to decompress from the past and prepare for the journey ahead.
The Region 9 Head Start Association (R9HSA) has secured Momentum Leadership Group to facilitate a two-day, four-module interactive executive level leadership experience where personal development, workforce engagement, organization improvement and strategic planning come together.

I have been to management workshops, not leadership training. This has totally changed my perspective and encouraged me to propel forward in developing my skills.
I am honored and humbled to be a recipient of the Region 9 Head Start Association’s Legacy Scholarship. The scholarship helped me get one step closer to achieving my goal of becoming a Head Start Director.
I took part in The disproportionate impact of COVID 19, and how to provide “real” support for black/brown children and families and I just want to say this was an amazing webinar. I hope we can look forward to further conversation on this topic.
